I appreciate all the comments. I am not typically into Japanese swords and therefore do not have a knowledge of these things. this is just one of a few pieces I have inherited from a family members passing and actually spends its time in a protective case. feel free to make an offer and it can be displayed properly in your home!

I recently inherited a sword. I think I have translated the writing on the tang correctly but I could always use a second opinion. I'm pretty confident on everything but the smith. I believe it says "Yamashiro Daijo Fujiwara Kunikane"
