Katana OR Wakizashi? Fake Green Paper 😆
NewB replied to NewB's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion

hola Still confused, not an important blade (no pun), no interest of the mobsters that had an influence of faking the green certificates at the time (what most say about the green paper) , so - why katana since it is less than 24”? 23”8’ j

Look, everything that had to be said is said. I offered you everything I could within my power to remedy the situation including big discount if you have an interest in My blades. What did you say? They'll be tamed with my memory?? Really? .. so, since you've closed all options to make it good by you what else can we do? P.S. Constructive criticism is always welcome. Nobody is perfect! It's how you proceed forward is what makes the difference. Clearly your intentions were to revenge for the failed agreement. Okay, you win. J. -

We dropped the ball on this one. You didn't care about our dissatisfaction with what happened. Not my call on this one in particular. Earthquakes are unpredictable. Family stays above all wakizashi and commitments in the World. That's my philosophy! also, Nobody tried to renegotiate - nobody asked you for more money. The refund got delayed because of another payment plan buyer such as tourself, so - pay in full to get it right away. Last, to wait to get your money just to go on and write this makes you nothing but a back stabber. I'm guessing you were afraid that you weren't going to get your funds back and thats why you're writing it now? Drama... BTW - We've sold blades for over 70k to folks all over the World just in the last year so one hiccup isn't that bad. Folks put deposits and back away all day long, it's the nature of the beast. In any event - you've been refunded and to me it is a no foul no harm. I did the best I can to help my family at a time when 50000 people lost their lives in one of the most devastating earthquakes so to hell with your whining. There are many Sukesada out there - I wish you success. Thank you for your voted trust and we wish you well with your future endeavors J&U -

Explain J. -
the blade was sold by its new owner a week ago j
-
Thank you There are few available from the showa period at the 2500-4400 dollar range and they are in Japan... this one is 1400 and is within the US
-
This is what I sold it as. Valuable members thought the nakago could have been through treatment to look older but I can't say yay or nay to that. I've seen numerous blades from the shinshinto period displaying oddly looking rust but that is up to you. There's zero doubt in my mind it is traditionally made, authentic Japanese blade. I got it from Japan! It's a nice, healthy - in recent polish blade IMHO Hope that helps J

NTHK April Shinsa in Chicago ! Small investment for real answers.. https://nihonto.com/shodai-hizen-tadayoshi-初代肥前忠吉/ http://www.hizento.com/history-school-of-tadayoshi-1st-generation.php J.

The Shodai works are rare and even in this economy keep their value. Arguably he was one of the most respected shinto smiths per the information I have. Google 'shodai tadayoshi' and check out sho-shin.com Look how many families own the important works - that's a sign for something. J.

Absolutely Take some good photos. To me it is signed on the wrong side plus some other stuff.. Could be wrong J.
-
I m definitely far away from making a call - I'm a big fan of the school, hence my reply I'd say gimei Also, Adding accurate dimensions could help greatly - cutting edge length, tip length, tang length and overall blade length .. the photos do not provide great insight .. J.
-
Hello, I'm not an expert, just someone to guide you through what is usually needed to have a good guess presented to you! Photos of the blade shape (without fittings) in vertical shape, photos of the hardening of the tip and the overall tang shape plus the folded steel of the blade could lead to more educated guess. The mei is rather bold but it looks suspicious to me. Could be the the powder still in the Kanji.. Personally I've never seen gojimei Tadayoshi chiseled this way but I'm novice. Hope this is a little bit of help to get a better more conclusive answer J.
