Hi I'm a novice so please go easy. I acquired this WWII Gunto, with what appears to be an older traditional blade (71 cm cutting edge) and the Mei has been translated as Echizen no kuni kanetane saku. (see below) (Apologies I cant rotate) I have had some concerns about the mei raised by soemone significantly more experienced than myself. No suitable match of the mei has been found (I have limited resources and - Internet no books) I would like to consider if it is a worthwhile process to have the blade restored. May ask if anyone has seen a similar signature and blade ? Could this be a dai mei from one of Kanetane's students or is it a gimei ? All thoughts and opinions are welcome. Thanks in advanced. Damo
