    Military tsuba

My first tsuba of this type. After some research, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of differences... Here are some figures: 71,9 x 58,5 x 7,2 (rim) / 5,0 (seppa) / 8,3 (mon) 127 gr Any comments are most welcome.
  12. Merry Christmas Piers
  13. Possibly...
  14. Yes, just 'pure' iron with light reflection... And mimi with the same reflection
  15. Thank you Jean. The rim has also 8 marks, 2 on each side. Dimensions of the tsuba: 82,3 x 77,4 x 5,0>5,4 (rim) / 2,8>3,2 (seppa) mm 121 grams of iron.
  16. Octogonal - iron - mumei 78,3 x 78,2 x 5 (rim) / 3,4 (seppa) mm 110 gram Any comment is most welcome

  19. Thank you Steve! Where did you find this info?
  20. I can't find anything about this person. I wonder if he would have made tosogu before. Anyone with a tsuba, kozuka,... with this mei / kakihan?
  21. Fine silver work, comes from France. With very small stamp ET (= étranger - Paris - 1864/1893). Can't find the artist name... Hirashige??? (unknown by further research 🤷🏻‍♂️). Anyone? Thx!
  22. Wondering to see the custom kogai ... 🤣
  23. Thank you both very much for this translation! Her is the whole tsuba, old with some gold remnants... Diam: 7,3 cm - 5,0 mm at seppa-dai - iron - 106 grams Any idea if it's the 1650-1725 or the 1750-1775 Shigekatsu?
