  8. Hello John, thanks, I'm learing a lot on this board. The prices of Japanese swords are much higher in my country. For a Mumei type 98 Gunto out of polish the asking price is over $ 1000. I have made an apointment with the seller to see this Wakizashi in the flesh.
  9. Jean and John thanks for the response. What do you think of this blade? http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/16934-opinion-asked/ Both are for sale in my country and are in the same price range 500-550 $.
  10. Thanks, I want to buy this Wakazashi for the blade if its made bij Fuguwara Kaneyasu. So Brian says its real and Steve and Jean think its Chinese.

Whats your opinion about this Wakizashi? Place of the Habaki looks a little strange to me. http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/antiek-en-kunst/antiek-overige/m935838410-antieke-japanse-arimitsu-wakizashi-500-jaar-oud-new-polish.html?c=80906a7f13ccf514b11788e5504db095&previousAction=asqSent
  23. I removed the leather wrap, the laces where to far gone and i couldn't save them. I put the wrap in a leather softener. 3 old iron tires and one new are wrapped around the Tsuka. I handmade a "mekugi" and made a real tight fit cause the Tsuka never has to come of again. Now some new leather laces and try to rescue the wrap.
  24. Thanks for the response, i want to place a mekugi so i have to peel the leather wrap.
  25. Any tips how to remount the Tsuka??
