  1. Hi John I dont think that it is so reading. It is not the e for makie and I find no meaning for this combination. The Inro shows a picture of Samurai items, a part of Kura (Sattle) with Swastika symbols and Abumi (Stirrups). Best regards TSmith
  2. Thanks for your opinions What did you think about my translation. 東山 Higashiyama > 113 Tenno of Japan 殿 tono > feudal lord 時代 jidai > period 道 do/michi > ? 甫 fu/ho > beginning 蒔 ji/shi/maki > for“makie”is missing 絵 [e] ? エ ko > made 圖 zu > picture Altogether: This picture made at the beginning periode of my feudal lord Higashiyama. But what are the other signs meaning? Thanks again Best regards TSmith
  3. Hi Morita Yes it was on Yahoo auction but I don't get this. This Inro was from a Artist where I collect all information for a chronology. Can you help me further with the inscription. What can I read on this (translation?). Thanks Best regards TSmith
  4. Hi everybody I have there a couple of questions again to a inscription and a sign. With the inscription I have try it self with dictionarys on the web but I found the last Kanji not. Could you tell me whether I all right with the other Kanji and could you tell me what altogether it would read (and a translation in english please). I found following Kanji: 東[higashi]山[yama]殿[tono]時[ji]代[dai]道[do/michi]甫[fu/ho]蒔[ji/shi/maki]エ[ko] and the last ? Then I have a sign (pherhaps a tensho script seal?) for what I found no Kanji or a meaning. I would be glad for every help again. Best regards TSmith
  5. Hi Morita Hi Moriyama Thanks for your help and effort. From these signs, I can recognize really nothing. Therefore I must depend on you. I am happy that leastwise you can read it. Are this signs now written in sosho or hiragana? What is or what mean “Shiba-hama Shin-Wun” altogether? Thanks again Best regards TSmith
  6. Hi everbody Who can read this kanji/hiragana inscription and the Seal at this Inro. I would be very thankful if someone could help me to translate this characters. Is the Seal a Date Seal. Thanks for your help. Best regards TSmith
