Stever Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Hi all, I came across this picture today, and was wondering if the ito wrapping style on this tsuka is one that was actually used. To me, there are several things that sent up red flags, but other things that made me look twice. Anyway, just looking and learning. Anyone have any thoughts on this? thanks Quote
Guido Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Looks o.k. to me. This type is called Yorimaki 捩巻, twisted wrap, resulting in Kikkôgatabishi 亀甲形菱, tortoise shell shaped openings. Not very popular, but also not extremely rare. Quote
Stever Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Very cool and good to know. Vielen Dank, Herr Schiller. It is not one I've come across previously. Not surprising, I'm pretty new at this. Thanks Quote
