A sunobe katana is a mono steel katana forged by a Japanese smith during world war 2. This one was made for Iaido use which can be seen be its incredible length. The fuchi and tsuba are antique. The tsuba with two tsubadome is indicative of bakumatsu era tsuba. The tsumami make is well done. The habaki is made of silver. The bohi is extremely deep. This is a strong sword for use from practitioners of larger sword styles or a taller/stronger practitioner. 1 Quote

I had quite a journey trying to find one for my iai several years ago (Muso Shinden Ryu prefers longer blades and I'm above average height). I ended up having to commission one from a modern smith, at a significant premium over a pre-made (and furnished) sword. Quote
