Other Info and Full Description

Huge and healthy sword. Beautiful August blade. This piece still displays ubuha (unsharpened area around 10cm from the bottom) meaning it has only been polished once or twice. The Kissaki is extended beautifully and the Boshi looks like a burning fire, exceptional. Tsuruta-san at Aoi Art rated this sword Saijo-saku, which is pretty rare for non-Juyo blades if you have spent any time looking around his website. Has a bright and brilliant Hamon with thick Ashi.

Soji Katsuya Naohide was the son of Naokatsu and a grandson of Taikei Naotane. He was born in 1833 and died in 1905 at the age of 73. He was a skilled sword smith with a style similar to that of his father Naokatsu.

Width at Base(Motohaba): 3.22cm (1.26in)
Width at tip(Sakihaba): 2.61cm(1.02in)
Thickness: 0.86cm (0.33in)

Another sword I don't really want to part with, but my collection is being reconfigured.
