Mikaveli Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 (edited) So, I've come across this sword: Just wondered how common it was to see shortened wakizashi (that started life as a wakizashi). This one is Kanbun, and would have originally been around 58cm, but it's suriage by around 10cm. Now 47-48cm. Not much black rust has developed, so I wondered when this happened? My first thought was when the maximum length of non-samurai class swords was limited to KO wakizashi during the early Edo period? Edited November 8 by Mikaveli Quote
Jacques Posted Sunday at 10:46 PM Report Posted Sunday at 10:46 PM I would say Shinshinto rather Kanbun Quote

Rivkin Posted Monday at 04:29 AM Report Posted Monday at 04:29 AM Deep, well spaced yasurime can be shinshinto. Boshi is not seen, its another thing to check. Ofcoarse its possible to try to guess the signature. Quote
