canuckodile Posted December 9, 2024 Report Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) Good day everyone, I apologize in advance if I make any faux pas, I am not the most active and rarely sell. Please let me know if I can improve the listing and I will be happy to do so. I have a niche but fun piece I'm letting go of today to focus more on expanding my dirk & dagger collection. It is the 1 of 1 reference piece at page 376 of Jim Dawson's Cyclopedia. Origin: Late Meiji to early Taisho period (circa 1890–1925) (This is entirely speculative, but others I have consulted believe similar based on the design and markings) Blade: Handmade with faintly visible hamon, showing minor chips and some wear appropriate for its age. It is unmarked. Grip: White ray skin Mon: Wisteria mon, historically associated with the Fujiwara clan and a variety of other families (see textbook for more details). I'm looking for $4,000 USD, Edit: I am also open to offers. I am located in Canada. We currently have a postal worker union strike by Canada Post which is causing runoff issues with UPS and Purolator. I believe FedEx and DHL are still available, but this is forewarning that there may be delays with shipping in the short-term. Thank you very much.
