John C Posted March 8, 2024 Report Posted March 8, 2024 Hello: On the back of a tabako-ire kanagu, there are 4 tiny stamps. I think these pertain to the treasures brought by the 7 lucky Gods. I think I have identified the inexhaustible purse and the cloak of fairy feathers (hat of invisibility?) on the left side, but what are the ones on the right? They seem similar to the ones I have marked on Kokusai's chart (just as a reference), however I do not know what they represent. Any ideas? Thank you, John C. 1 Quote
SteveM Posted March 8, 2024 Report Posted March 8, 2024 Yes, they are lucky treasures. There's 9 of them (or, at least 9). I don't think they are affiliated with the 7 lucky gods. Called "takara zukushi" 宝尽くし https://www.koboku.co.jp/news/日本の吉祥文様 『宝尽くし』/ 2 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted March 9, 2024 Report Posted March 9, 2024 So thanks to Steve the answers are shippo (cloisonne) and makijiku (Gion-mori = crossed scrolls). Neat to have those stamps on the back plate of your tobacco purse clasp though! For me I have been coincidentally doing some research into fundo (scales weights) so it was interesting to see one listed there as a treasure. 1 1 Quote
