Saya lacquer damage question

How much does damage to the lacquer of a saya detract from the overall value of a blade and mounting? While cleaning a blade a couple of years ago, I accidenatly nicked the saya.

 

Trying to decide if I should get it repaired or leave it as a reminder. I guess it will only matter to someone else if I sell it.

 

What are your thoughts ?

Hi Somin, I damaged a saya an inch and a half from the koiguchi on the inside exactly were my thumb retreats to upon nuki and I notice it every time. It is a good reminder to be more careful even though doing something for the thousandth time. John
