M Ubertini Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Hey Guys, Looking for info on the Hirado Sa smiths Morihiro and his son Moriyoshi. Not too much info out there, but I think there is some info in the Nihonto Koza volume 2. Any oshigata of their tanto's or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt Ubertini Quote
Jacques Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Hi, Infos about these smiths are few, below that says Fujishiro koto jiten (no oshigata): MORIHIRO SA [FUMEI (unknown) HIZEN] CHÛKOTÔ JÔSAKU It is said his period was Kenmu, and that he was of Hirato Samonji, but he is probably from the Chikuzen Sa group. Since the period of Ô-Sa was Shôhei, which had already passed, this smith is probably after that. Signature: HIRATO JÛ MORIHIRO SAKU MORIYOSHI HIRATO SA [ÔAN 1368 ND HIZEN] CHÛKOTÔ CHÛJÔSAKU He is the son of Morihiro, was called Saemonshirô, and his period is said to be Ôan. From looking at his works, the period did not extend to Ôan. Signature: HIRATO JÛ MORIYOSHI About Nihonto koza, please see below: Hirato sa Moriyoshi is also indentified in the Toko Taikan but without more info. Hope that can help a few. Quote
