Tachi Stand

Tachi-kake. Appraised by Aoi Art as later Meiji period.

I paid 235,000 JPY. That is about $2270 USD presently.

Gorgeous theme with maple tree and Koi.

In good condition. There are a couple of small dents on the base which you can see in the photos. That is how it was presented on the Aoi Art website when I bought it. Had it been flawless, it would have been more expensive.

I will ship by FedEx to the U.S. or Canada. Shipping not included. Can also ship to Europe, but that is more expensive. The katana-kake that I sold recently was successfully shipped to a buyer in Italy by FedEx.

..., am I wrong in thinking sword tip should be up?

If it's a tachi, yes, but if a katana is put on a tachikake, the tsuka goes up.

Thank you , Guido, for redeeming me.

Truth is, I was just experimenting when I took the photos with the katana koshirae on the stand.

I also didn't want to scratch the stand with the metal kashira on the end of the tsuka.

I'm open to reasonable offers. I'm going to gradually sell off my entire small, but very desirable, collection.

The katana-kake is gone. What I have left is this tachikake, two Juyo swords with koshirae, and a couple of those silver mekugi-nuki that they were repeatedly flogging on Aoi Art .

I have reduced the asking price to $2000 USD.

Shipping would be extra. I can ship by FedEx,or by Canada Post Tracked Packet USA (if you are in the U.S.).

Can provide more pictures if anyone is interested.
