Michael 101 Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Dear nembers, Please see attached tsuba made by Nakane Heihachiro (1805 - 1870 ) which I have decided to sell from my collection. The design is very similar to tsuba no 8 in Ito Mitsurus book on Hayashi and Kamiyoshi tsuba - the inlay style is identical. Note the finely made soft metal lining to the nakago ana as seen on many examples by Nakane. Size is 8.05cm x 8.02cm x 0.39cm and weight of 111g Nakane was a senior retainer of the Hosokawa family and made tsuba as a hobby for household members only. It is believed that he learnt his skills from the 2nd master Kamiyoshi. This tsuba has a great wabi sabi look and would be superb mounted on a Higo koshirea ( several juyo level koshirea have Nakane tsuba ) SOLD Kindest regards Michael
