nihonto1001 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 This katana was found in WWII Shingunto Mounts with wooden saya. The mei looks like Yasutsuna to me. However, I cannot find a matching mei. So, now I am second guessing. Can anybody shed some light on this smith? Any help is appreciated as always. Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Yes. Yasutsuna was a seki smith who's family name was Asai (浅井). Edit: From The Sesko index - Yasutsuna (安綱), Sh ō wa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – „Yasutsuna“ (安綱), civilian name „Asai Tamotsu“ (浅井保), born March 21 he was the son von Toshimasa (敏正) and died January 3 rd 1990 1 Quote
