Salvatori Moretto Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Up for sale a what I believe to be a traditionally made blade. I know very little about these types of blades from the war. I was told this was a Navy D guard but mounts look more Army to me but correct me where ever I may be wrong. This handle does have a silver family Mon on it but I am not familiar with this one. There are some light surface scratches from cutting of some sort near the kissaki that I tried to photograph and some general signs of age; no chips or cracks. Nagasa is 22 3/4 and from tsuka/handle is 7 3/4 from base of guard. Guard is sukashi and the nakago has three mekugi ana, there is no mei that I can see. This is the saya it came with and seems to be roughly made, possibly the intended core for a metal case. I can try to more pictures up if needed. Asking price is $1,500 If you feel the price is far off the value please let me know you're reasons so I can do research and possible adjust price if necessary.
