Cello Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 So this one is very confusing to me !Too many strokes for my brain to process at my skill level lol.Any help is appreciated as always.(I know I have seen the first two kanji before but I'm drawing a blank) Quote
Tokaido Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 Hi, interesting style to chisel the kanji for "shu", but anyway, I guess: Noshu ju Fujiwara Ujinobu Greetings Andreas Quote
Cello Posted July 13, 2015 Author Report Posted July 13, 2015 Thank you Andreas I tried to look on the Internet for any examples if this smith but have not found any? Does anyone have an oshigata or can tell me what generation smith it is etc...... Quote
Tokaido Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 Hello Marcello, I did search Fujishiro, Shinto Taikan and the Koto-Shi and Shinto-Shi by Markus, but I did not find a matching nakago. A smith by this name is listed under Gamaku school, but their signatures look different to yours. Sorry but keep looking Greetings Andreas Quote
Kronos Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 It'll be one of the Ganmaku ujinobu, there's 4 or 5 of them to choose from but not very big names so no oshigata i don't imagine. The only way to tll the generation would probably be shinsa but very unlikely to be gimei. Quote
Cello Posted July 14, 2015 Author Report Posted July 14, 2015 Thank for the replays Andreas and Kronos. So as for being Gimei you are figuring since the name isn't that big so no reason to fake it right ?... I thought from my limited research ujinobu was a decently rated smith no?I only found smiths listed gamaku and not fujiwara .... Quote
