ok, from Haynes

IESHIGE - Shoami

Kyoto and Aizu in Iwashiro Province

D. ca. 1700 - 1750

Worked in the style of Shoami Shigenobu. Note: There is a reference of his mei in Wakayama's third book by the looks of it.

IESHIGE - Shoami

His name was chuko kaisan -

Worked in Matsuyama in Iyo Province

D. ca. 1700

He made Iron plate tsuba

IESHIGE - Shoami

Worked in Koshu Isawa ju, Kai Province.

That is all.

The Toso Kinki Jiten only lists the Ieshige from Iyo province only. Is says he signed with the following

Yoshû Matsuyama jû Chûkô Kaisan Shôami Ieshige 予州松山住中興開山正阿弥家重

and

Yoshû jû Shôami Ieshige (kao) 予州住正阿弥家重 (花押)

It notes he made testu tsuba, was from Iyo-no-kuni 伊予国 and worked in the mid Edo period.

Cheers

Thank you Rich.

I ask because I own such an Ieshige Tsuba; it's just signed "Shoami Ieshige saku".

Here it is:

What do you (or anyone else) think in which time this was made?

Thanks,
