stekemest Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Hi, I'm looking for tsuba of Shoami Ieshige. He seems to be a rather unknown tsubashi, working around momoyama period. Thanks in advance for any help. Peter Quote
Rich T Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 The Toso Kinko Jiten and Haynes just list 2 or 3 Ieshige's and they are all Edo period artists. Maybe someone else has something. Rich Quote

Note: There is a reference of his mei in Wakayama's third book by the looks of it. IESHIGE - Shoami His name was chuko kaisan - Worked in Matsuyama in Iyo Province D. ca. 1700 He made Iron plate tsuba IESHIGE - Shoami Worked in Koshu Isawa ju, Kai Province. That is all. stekemest Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 Thank you Rich. I ask because I own such an Ieshige Tsuba; it's just signed "Shoami Ieshige saku". Here it is: What do you (or anyone else) think in which time this was made? Thanks, Peter[/img] Quote
