kuromido Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Hello all, well this one's got me stumped. The only kanji I can make out is fujiwara masa ( I think) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, peterD Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Hi Peter, if you want a starter hint, try 政次 Masatsugu of Yamato Quote
kuromido Posted June 13, 2013 Author Report Posted June 13, 2013 Thank you piers! I would have SOL without your nudge. I see it as Kanabo Hyoenojo Masatsugu. From what I can find there were three smiths by this name. Does anybody have an oshigata comparable to this? There is very little on the net and I am trying To nail down the Smith. Thanks again Piers for your help. PeterD Quote
cabowen Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Try the Sue Koto volume by Yoshikawa Kentaro. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Three "Heiei" no Jo? father, brother and son, (the others being Ueimon no Jo and Masatsugu Shichibei) Kawaguchi & Iida's Toko Soran, p 566. Dates of Heiei's listed works given as 弘治 Koji 3 and 天文 Tenbun 11. ...and you've looked at Fujishiro for Oshigata, Koto, pp 400 & 401 (in the Japanese version)? Edit. NB Honma and Ishii in the Nihonto Meikan record the second gen Heiei signed without 南部 Nambu before Kanebo/Kanabo Quote
kuromido Posted June 14, 2013 Author Report Posted June 14, 2013 Thanks piers and chris. I have fujishiros koto and the mei is not even close. I do not have the other books. Can either of you post or pm me a scan of what you have? Any thoughts on gen or gimei? Thanks again, PeterD Quote
