Hello, this sword was passed on from my grandfather who was a captain in the Navy during WWII. He witnessed a high ranking officer surrender this sword, and it's been in his posetion ever since. I took these photos a few years ago, but can not quickly get better photos as my brother has it on the opposite side of the country. I'm wondering if anyone can identify it. It has a metal Saya and a push button release. I believe the blade has Midare or wavy hamon in the blade.
