Thank you very much Sam. Is "Kanesumi" a sword maker or factory ? There are writings on both sides, is there more than "Kanesumi" written there ? Thank you Detlev

Good afternoon. I am new to these swords. I bought this sword at auction. From what I understand it is a Shin Gunto for a company grade officer. The handle has writings on both sides and what looks like an arsenal stamp. It came with the "bring home" paper of a UK officer by his CO in 1945. Can anyone please identify the Japanese writing ? Good morning, I have bought my first Japanese sword, as I see it as a regular Shin Gunto of a company officer. I have taken the handle off and found these markings on both sides of the angle. I can't read Japanese. As far as I understand one stamp is an Arsenal stamp ? It came with the original "bring back" permission to a UK soldier signed by his CO in 1945. I think it is in a good to very good condition. May I ask you if you could identify the maker marks please ? Kind regards Detlev from Portugal
