  1. Sent you a DM reply before I read this post. Indy is certainly doable as I have family in the area and would love for someone more knowledgeable than myself (not hard to do! ha) to examine this in person. I truly do appreciate the offer and look forward to further DM's to maybe arrange a meeting in person sometime in the next few months. Best to you! BD
  2. Thanks John. Unfortunately being located in the Midwest a CA show is a bit out of range for me. If anyone knows when the next Chicago show is to be held I would certainly make an attempt to attend and have this evaluated in hand by the experts. Again, thank you so much for welcoming me here and all of the great input. You are all very helpful to this novice when it comes to these older swords!
  3. And a huge thank you to all who have given their input on this sword as I truly am an EXTREME NOVICE on such items! Great forum so far and glad I was directed here by another person on a different site.
  4. Do the shows occur multiple times a year or is an annual show only?
  5. Makes sense since that is what they were told by Mr. Pepin years ago when he looked at it. So who/how do I get this into someone's hands who can look it over for me? Again, I humbly thank everyone who commented and looked as I am a real novice when it comes to this sort of area of collecting.
  6. Recently acquired this sword from the son of a veteran who was with an AAA unit in the Pacific during the war. Along with this sword I also bought a decent Arisaka Type 2 rifle. Now, I know about the rifle but was encouraged to post the sword here in hopes of finding out more about it. I know that it was checked by Eric Pepin back in the 1980's in Chicago and the son was told that this sword was made by another maker and was cut down at some point. So with all the experts on here I am asking for your opinions/thoughts on this sword. I appreciate and thank you all in advance for your help as I know next to nothing on swords outside of the traditional military blades issued in the first half of the 19th century so I am truly ignorant on what I may have here.
