Thanks to both Brian and kissakai. I’m 95% confident that it is ivory as I imported it from England and had to jump through hoops to get it to the states. i never held out that the blade was anything more then for the export market. I was interested in trying to remove the tsuka to check the tang but I believe it is not meant to be removed. No mekugi except in the very bottom that is set vertically not perpendicular. Any ideas

I purchased this elephant ivory tanto in England about 25 years ago. I was wondering if anyone can translate the saya mei(???). And if anyone has some info or observations they would like to share. Thanks

Sorry about the lack of info. Here is a pic with dimensions. Do you notice the chevrons? Reminds me of military.

Hello everyone, I believe I have a naval commissioned tango pre 1938. Can you help with the translation
