  1. Hey dear members, It has been a while when this topic was up.. but had a lot to do.. the last weeks i had a bit of time to examinenthe sword again.. Still it is a very interresting piece of art. I made some new photos lately.. and finally i found in the correct light yesterday what i was looking for..
  2. Sabiji, thanks for your reply! Intressting you mentioned the kataochi gunome.. i dont think the hamon to be made with that style in mind. There are only a few waves pointing towards the tip.. As for the boshi.. mihara came to my mind because of the tori no o boshi with ko-maru kaeri.. which is most typical to that school.. if i am not completly wrong..
  3. Bosco, i think you are right! And not! in the same time.. My blade was once sold by the Japanese seller where you bought yours.. I bought it from france lately.. As a total newbie my first thought was if it could be kamakura.. hence the title of the topic. But that idea is loooong gone! My seller just mentioned that the blade was forged in bizen tradition.. All the inspections and investigation is made by me.. he did not mention either kamakura or anything else that it could be koto.. May i ask you to send me a PM where you bought yours?
  4. Hello Bosco, Sorry i only partly understand what you mean.. Anyway. The interresting in my sword is the overall quality of the forging.. from the beginning i am looking for signs on it which really puts me in the direction of a shinto sword.. but than i find another part like the boshi.. which is just perfectly maintained and that in the mihara school's style..
  5. Hey all, I made some inspection on the blade and especially on the boshi.. as from photos it is not very well presentable i made a scetch 1:1 from the boshi and the nakago.. Any thoughts again will be appreciated.. David
  6. Better photos are yet to come.. still.. Sorry 🙃 David
  7. Thanks for your replies. The polish is unfortunatelly an old one so its quite hard to find the photo angle to see the hada strcture.. But i will do my best! What about mid edo around 1640-1700? And bitchu..?
  8. Not that bad at all...
  9. And why shinto? David
