Hi guys, just received my Kyo-kino Fuchi Kashira today. Im on the hunt for matching tsuba and menuki. Any help would be great please . Edo-Period Kyō-Kinkō Fuchi-Kashira An excellent example of Edo-period sword fittings from the Kyō-Kinkō school. Crafted from shakudō (a copper-gold alloy) and featuring precision sukidashi-takabori (high-relief carving) with a remarkably smooth finish, this fuchi-kashira is adorned with finely detailed chrysanthemum motifs. The use of gold inlay (zōgan) enhances its elegance, embodying the refined standards of Kyoto metalwork tradition.

I know a guy, he cleans up abandoned house or something like that in Japan. He came across lot of swords hidden from those house. He then sold them to dealer at cheap price because they were all in bad shape. I might ask him to save anything in odachi size now 😆 -

I doubt anyone can tell who made a mumei one anyway. To me, if the condition is great, the era sound about right and the blade speaks to me then yes. -
A question for Shinshinto collectors
Bosco replied to Natichu's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
I’m newbie too. I don’t focus on which era but I’m trying to learn the foundation all the basics. I’m more on the condition of any blade, if it’s healthy, no dmg I buy to study. Easier than focusing on specific era. -

I love it at the first sign. So I made a phone call straight to Japan and I glad they have English speaking staff working at the time. So yeah. Thinking to get it NBTHK paper for it but its already has NPO paper ranking as Yushuto so not much to worry about, its a mumei at the end of the day. The thing that I love about it is its look so mean 😆. -

The NPO NTHK paper said Yamato Shizu , yet on their own NPO NThK book they put the description as Shizu Saburo Kaneuji. I’m a bit confused as well. But despite the point, is NPO Yushu equivalent to Juyo ?. -
