  1. Thank you for the quick translation everyone 😊.
  2. Hi all, Just wonder if anyone can help me translating the sayagaki since my app can't seem to recognizing the hand writing. Thank you in advance 🙏🙏🙏. Tom
  3. Thank you for the response BabyJoe & Rivkin. Just a few more images to further clarify the Koto determination from previous sources. From the info we have, can we safely assume this blade can be attributed to the Keicho era (transition period between Koto & Shinto)?
  4. Hi all, I recently ran into a head-scratching confusion for my blade and just wonder if anyone can share their opinion or advise on this matter. So my blade is signed Noshu Seki junin KANEIWA and have been previously referenced in a Mino Museum Catalog and NTHK paper as Koto (Tenso era). However, it recently passed NBTHK Tokuho and was reclassified as Shinto instead. As such, I did reach out to NBTHK for further clarification. They said since the smith is not in the Meikan, they judged from the appearance of the Nakago and style of the signature and think that it must be made in Shinto period. To add to the confusion, this specific mei is also attributed to Koto period on Nihonto Club website. At this point, I just wonder if anyone has access to the Meikan and help me find further info on this mei. It would be of great help in resolving this annoying confusion.
  5. Yes. It is my first sale so already edited the original listing to include the asking price. As for Stephen's question, all tassels come in two grades: Standard and Deluxe as mentioned on the Ohmuras Web page. The Standard has solid colours looking straight at the flattened strap while the Deluxe has the solid colour with edges in the opposing colour.
  6. If you are looking for an original, carried WW2 General's deluxe gunto tassel in near-mint condition--this tassel fits the bill. This tassel was brought back as a souvenir from Burma by a WW2 British Veteran. Bought it from his nephew in Kenardington UK. Asking price: $3000 or DM me your best offer.
  7. Came across a blade that has this unique mei. Any help in ID-ing it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Fatal flaw?

Thank you for the input everyone. Such a shame that this blade is now just a shadow of its former self. Quite painful to see a nice blade in this condition and it is beyond our ability to save it.

    Fatal flaw?

Recently stumbled upon a fairly poor condition blade and just wonder if restoration is still possible. Major concern is on the Fukure/Ware near the Monouchi area. Seems to still have a good amount of Hamon area remains but run awfully close to the cutting edge. Anyhow, any input would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hi, I know this is more than likely too late, but anyone still have a picture of this blade? Asking since the eBay listing has expired and I can't seem to for an archive for it. Thanks!
