Hello! I've got a wakizashi that my dad bought in Japan in the 90s from his teacher. Since he bought it long ago he can't remember the details of the swordsmith so I was hoping to get some translation help. This is the info he did have for me:
Japanese Wakizashi sword, Edo Period (1650), Signed blade.
Creator is descendant of famous Muromachi period sword maker, likely the grandson or great grandson. My dad's teacher had the sword assessed and this is what he had been told, but he can't remember who it was
Blade was recovered and polished to its current state in 1995.
The blade portion is 18"/46 cm, the entire sword is roughly 23"/59cm.
Has the display hilt and scabbard shown.
I looked through a lot of the resources linked in this forum and elsewhere and guessed that the last kanji may be 'saku' but I was struggling to match any of the rest, even after a few hours of searching, so any help would be appreciated! Can take more photos if necessary as well.
Thanks,
Ivy A
