  1. Gentlemen, Thank you for your help on this one, I appreciate it!
  2. Thank you, Steve, Before posting I checked Hawley's for ShoShin and did not find a listing for him, so I wanted to check my interpretation. Chris
  3. Gentlemen, Here is another katana that I am having a problem with. It appears that the first character of the mei is Sho-, I am having a problem with the second character, is it -Shin? The third character is Saku and it appears to have been made on a lucky day in January 1935. Am I tracking on this one? Chris
  4. Thank you, Piers
  5. Thank you Ron, I will check this out.
  6. Thank you, Moriyama San,
  7. Hello Everyone, Here is another sword that was found in type 98 mounts, and it appears that the blade was made in February 1668. Have I translated this Mei correctly? Does this Mei appear Gimei? i
  8. Piers, I can see Tada and there are a few listed in Hawley's for that time period - Thank you for your insight! Chris
  9. Hello Everyone, This is my sword which came in type 98 mounts and appears to contain a blade from possibly the Koto period. The first character of the Mei is extremely worn, which I believe is either "Fusa-" or "Yasu-" while the second charter is "Mitsu". Am I tracking on these characters? Any guesses? Thank you Chris
  10. Bruce, You are correct - no date
  11. Happy New Year Everyone, I need help with this Kanezane mei. I cannot figure out the first three characters: Your help will be greatly appreciated!
  12. Bruce, Here are some photos for your records.
  13. Mal, Thank you for the information on this smith, I found a Yukimune in both Sloughs and Hawley (YUK 317) but did think this was the same smith.
