  1. Is there a source that does this near Chicago?
  2. Is this one dated?
  3. Would there be any way to correct this? I realize there isn't much value to this piece, but I also wonder if the grip wrap could be redone? Is there a place that specializes in doing this stuff?
  4. At some point, the blade looks to have been bent, I can't imagine that is "as made". Thanks for any further responses.
  5. Looking at the leather washer, one side looks to be torn away, is there a missing feature (strap, etc.?"
  6. Bump to see if there is anyone that may know, Thanks!
  7. Thank you for the reply, is this the view you wanted?
  8. Team, I inherited this from a friend whose father brought it home from WW2. I have looked online, and "think" this is a naval prison sword; but any information would be appreciated. I haven't tried to take it apart, as the slots in the screws are very shallow, and I don't want to damage anything. I don't see any markings on it, or the scabbard which has 2 rings If there are other areas that a photo would help, please let me know and I will post them. Thanks in advance!
  9. Many Many Thanks!
  10. Thank you Ray! Can you explain the markings to me> I believe the mark far left is the Showa mark? what do all the characters mean?
  11. Would anyone be able to give me information about this? I can reply to this and add a few more photos. This was a WW2 bring back, a friend's father left to his son, who in turn left it to me. I will follow up with a second post shortly with a different sword, thanks in advance.
