  1. I appreciate all the posts. I'm a strong believer in buying these for ME and not as an investment... Just preserving them and having them for a short while is good enough for me. I don't intend on making a quick buck but that also doesn't mean I won't sell them in the future...who knows??? anyways I've e-mailed a few polishers and we'll see what they have to say. I've been lurking on this forum for awhile now before joining and I'm glad I did it seems there are some very experienced collectors and I look forward to picking your brains!!!! Eric.
  2. Don't be shy, If you see something wrong let me know, believe me my other hobby is even worse for fakes and reproductions and is a mine field. I have very thick skin and am willing to learn, if you don't want to post drop me a PM. Thanks for your time and help Eric
  3. Thanks for the information. Can you recomend a person to send the blade to get polished? also How do you go about getting papers for a sword also? Eric
  4. Stephen Thanks for the good news, would it be worth while to restore the earlier blade? theres a little rust on the blade and the saya sure needs a little help and if so who would be the best to send them too? One last question, when you said Koto what exactly does this mean? I researched a bit and all I get is Pre-1596? Is this a generic term? Thanks again Eric

  6. The supposed Muramachi period blade Both of the blades have a yokote(?) I tried to photo them but they didnt come out that great. Eric
  7. Simon : you said the tsuko-ito diamonds all twist in the same direction. I looked and they do alternate on both of the handles, my camera skills aren't the greatest Now I would assume this is something to look out for? Eric
  8. I'll post the pics. that you need. Theres really no provenance to these swords, I really hope they're not Chinese!!!! Eric
  9. OK , last one here you can really see the damage. The saya is very nice but the covering (leather, paper????) is very thin and is cracked in places. Is this something that I should restore or leave as is? I couldn't get good shots of the blades but I'm working on it. I appreciate any help and I'm looking forward to learning Thanks again!!! Eric
