  1. Thanks to everyone for your appreciatted inputs. To PNSSHOGUN, please keep in touch with your findings, for sure you´re in a much advanced stage than me. I´ll post some pictures of the blade , but its condition is not mint, as it may be expected due to age, suffering from some nicks and slight corrosion which i´m taking care of with dedicated products.
  2. Thanks for your quick reply, searching and granting my great ignorance, I may translate something like"made in the Bizen Osafune region by Sukesada swordsmith" Is that right? In that case we may be spealing of anl old forge I bleieve. Correct? Apologize for my ignorance again and hope you can turn some light on me.
  3. Hello everyone. I just added a much needed spacer -seppa- bought in Japan to my shin gunto. Replaced mikugi also and took some pictures of the inscription on it. Any clue on what is written will be much appreciatted. Thanks in advance.
  4. thanks everyone for your replys; what i get basically is a machine-forged sword somehow inscribed, if anyone could tell, does it read 1903 somewhere?? seller says so. Once again, many thanks.
  5. Hello, been reading quite a bit to purchase my very first WWII katana, so far I´ve avoided (and probably missed also) quite a few of them. This one looks promising but still need some help, may somebody verify these inscriptions? I´ll sincerely appreciated, pretty much decided to purchase it. thanks a lot RR
  6. In that case, I assume it is not a fake or falsification. The other elements (tsuka, yakiba, saya,... ) look real and corresponding to a later shin gunto. Correct me if i´m wrong, thanks again
  7. Thank you so much, by the way, is it a known blacksmith?
  8. Hello and best regards from Spain, I´m a collector owning a few spanish sables and militaria, but somehow what it seems to be an old WWII katana has step on my way. It is said to proceed from EEUU so it might be one of those acquired by EEUU troopers and brought back home by then, or it might be a total fake.... In any case and by the advices i´ve got, it seems pretty original but I´m looking for help and in my desperate need for it, found this forum . Sorry I don´t have anything to offer on the Japanese sword world but advice if you are planning on visiting my beautiful country,,,,, With your permission I´ll post some pictures of it, kindly appreciate any advice given as well as translation of the Mei. Many thanks in advance
