Thank you for your opinion Jose Silvio
  2. I think its remounted so i will first focus on the blade Thank you, Silvio
  3. I do not no why you quote this part with all respect as i,m not seeking for pricing/value etc from the beginning so maybe i say it wrong or you misread this part I understand that quality/condition counts much more but the damage is already done in the past and not reversible Al what matters for me is the historical aspect and just try to find out its age/translation Thank you, Silvio
  4. Like Mark said the translation is '' Nanki ni oite Shigekuni kore o tsukuru '' "made by Shigekuni in Nanki (i.e. southern Kii province)." this is also confirmed by a expert translater He said these signature is faked a lot but if authentic this blade comes from the early 1600s. Altough the tang is cleaned and decreased the value it has a chance the blade and signature are old because in my observation the letters are filled with patina wich is not removed after the cleaning. Thank you, Silvio

  11. Hello, I would like to discuss en hear some opinion about this Katana I have some knowledge about the WW2 Military katana but this is a other league Blade is 34,25... inch from tip of the blade till the end of the tang probaly signed by Nankei Shigekuni There are traces of lacquer/varnish on the blade. Maybe they replaced parts like the Tsuka in the past but all fits tightly and matching the Kashira and Fuchi. Does anybody recognise the Menuki or could give a date/era about the parts Is it worthy to restore the Katana Thank you Silvio
  12. Thank you Mark By genuine i was meaning original/legit. I will post images of the blade later today Silvio
