Thank you for helping me out on the translation, of my sword. I have been enjoying the wealth of information on this forum. I just learned that the material on my sword’s Saya is a surrender-tag. Thanks again, I now can tell my family a little more accurate information about my Pop’s sword. Shawn

Hello, I have this sword that my grandfather brought back from the Pacific, during WWII. I would like to know more about this sword, He was told that it is over 500 years old. I don't believe it's that old. The sword handle was damaged by a Japanese hand grenade, and was replaced with another handle during his tour in Japan. The fact that an arsenal stamp is stamped on the tang indicates it is a WWII piece. Would someone please translate these inscriptions for me. I would love to know what I have. Thank you, Shawn
