  1. OK. I will keep it as a memory of him. Thankyou for your professional advice.
  2. Such a quick response. Thanks. Yes, I had been looking at other swords and the lines cut (polished) are definite, the tip on this is rounded. My late pop was a jack of all trades, likely he polished it himself
  3. I have come into possession of this wakazashi, inherited. I am politely asking for assistance on correct info on it. I was told this is made by Mihara Masaie saku. Made in 1377. That is all I know. I am unsure of its authenticity. The pics arent the greatest, did have oil on the blade too. The scabbard and handle appear made to fit for this blade. Can upload more pics if required. Additionally what is a relative worth of this blade if it is correct. Any help appreciated. Thanks Peter Churchman
  4. Appreciated for the info. See what I can find.
  5. So just to confirm we are on the same page. At the bottom of the website page of the link it had adverts for "Nihonto, Traditionally Made Japanese Sword". Some of the makers were Kanemoto, Kagekiyo, Kunihito. You are saying that these are Chinese Imitations?
  6. Can you please clarify any further? very vague response. Brian's rules for posting under the subject doesn't state anything about putting my name on each post.
  7. Found this site. Go to bottom of page and has Nihonto for sale- bare blades. Seeing what people think of them... *link removed by Admin as not Nihonto*
  8. I have recently come into possession a mounted tanto. If anyone would be able to please translate it for me, also if possible what years the smith was active. The tang looks well rusted, giving the indication it isn't a relatively modern piece. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Apologies for not putting name on post Peter.
  10. For the age it looks good. I presume it has had a polish in its life.
  11. I have put another topic under inscription but put one here aswell if it gets missed. I have recently come into this sword and seeing if anyone can help in interpretation and also if this may be the sword that marrys to the smith. The mekugi holes line up perfectly so hopefully it is one point that it the sword matches the saya. Any info greatly appreciated. Based off information also seeing what to do next with it. Worth stone polishing in Japan?
  12. I have a saya with inscription on it and am seeing if anyone out there was able to interpret it. Usually they are either the details of the sword maker or receiver. I have the wakizashi that accompanies the saya (needs work), it is unsigned but fits the saya and with the matching tsuka, the mekugi hole placement marrys up. Attached is the pic of the saya. Any info this and also the blade itself would be greatly appreciated.
