  1. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. Mittens passed on Thursday morning. Robert
  2. Here is a picture of Mittens when he first came to live with me. I believe he could hold a pint glass with those thumbs.
  3. The oncologist did biopsies and the results were the worst possible news. Mittens has carcinoma in his kidneys, liver, pancreas, spleen, and stomach. No chance for treatment due to the aggressive nature of the cancer. Now I have to decide when his quality of life is low enough to euthanize the poor guy. He has medication that stimulates his appetite and another that keeps the nausea away. He is on Prednisone and it seems to keep some of the inflammation down, but I think his pain will get worse. He is still enjoying catnip, but I figure we only have a matter of days. Thank you all for your words of support. Darrel, I am glad the sword arrived undamaged. She is a hefty and healthy blade. 4. The katana is sold. Thanks for the interest and the nice comments. Mittens goes to the oncologist Friday morning and will start chemotherapy that day if they feel it will help him.

  19. I bought this one from Grey in Chicago at the show in 2014. I have tried to read it, but there is something around it like where seppa would be and it kills my eyes. I am going to list some tsuba for sale and this will probably be one of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  20. First off, hello to everyone. I have been away for quite some time. My wife became very ill in 2014 and I had health problems of my own in the last couple of years. Due to the passing of my wife in November, I am forced to sell some of my favorite pieces. The first is my only nihonto katana. I bought this piece from AOI art in early 2014. I have admired and loved it since, but I must let it go. Here are the dimensions: Blade length: 28.12 inches Sori: 0.6 inches Width at hamachi: 1.3 inches Width at kissaki: 0.87 inches Kasane: 0.29 inches Mekugi: 2 Said to be from mid muromachi period. Attributed to Kanenobu (Shiga Seki) With NBTHK Hozon paper and whole Oshigata from AOI art. I am asking $4300.00 plus shipping and PayPal fees. I am enclosing pictures and scans done origionally by AOI Art. I hope they will not mind. Their images are far better than mine would be. I will also be listing several tsuba in other posts if anyone is interested. Thanks for looking. It was good to see so many familiar names in recent posts. I was asked for a picture of the Hozon paper, so here it is.
  21. Both the tsuba and menuki arrived yesterday. The pictures do not do the tsuba justice. It is much nicer in hand. I had hoped the menuki would match a bit better, but they are smallish... Maybe for a wakizashi? I will try to get a picture of them up later. Thanks for all of the comments. Robert H.
  22. Thanks for the comments. I also made a deal for a set of eggplant menuki. Robert H.
  23. Thanks Chris. Robert H.
  24. I purchased this from AOI Art. As always, they were courteous and helpful. I have always enjoyed the eggplant theme as far as fittings go and I went broke to have this one... I hope everyone enjoys. My picture is small, so I have included a link to the original sale page. http://www.aoijapan.com/tsuba-masatsunekyonen-80-sai Robert H.
  25. Ha, Brian beat me to it! Robert H.
