  1. Thank you very much for your quick reply! Is there any way to know which Kanefusa this was? There seem to be several existing around then and the signature doesn't match any that I have seen here http://home.earthlink.net/~ttstein/index.htm . I would love to be able to know if he was a smith of any renown or collectibility. Ideally I would like to get the sword restored, not for value sake; the blade looks sad being out of polish with old finger prints and tattered wrappings. In the 70's some of the members of the family though it was wise to use it to cut squash on sidewalks so it has a number of chips in the edge of the blade.
  2. I have a sword that has been passed down through my family through the last couple generations. A family member brought it back as a trophy from WWII, but I don't really know anything about it as that person passed away in the 60's. Can anyone tell me anything about it from the inscriptions on the nakago? I can take more pictures of it if necessary, I just feel bad showing the poor thing's chipped blade.
