  1. Does anyone the purpose of this? I've been told various things, all of which seem improbable. Any thoughts? Thanks, Barry
  2. Thank you for your comments gentlemen. Barry
  3. Thank you John, I hoped I was right. Barry
  4. Firstly a quick introduction. My name is Barry and I was directed here by Kevin of Ryujinswords, I am pleased to find a SA based website as I have family ties with South Africa and have visited many times and always look forward to returning. I have a wakizashi that I was researching and was led to Kevin, who in turn put me onto you. I believe it may be made by Hisamichi between 1650 and 1680's but my reading of Kanji is poor and I could be completely wrong! It's missing its habaki, has narrow straight hamon and is in need of a polish. The fittings seem to be of a later date except possibly the tsuba but any info you could give would be gratefully received. Thanks, Barry
