  1. So, I became fascinated with the beauty and perfection of traditional made Japanese swords. And although I only started to scrape the surface of the knowledge about nihonto I started to understand the complexity that is embodied in such blades. I don't plan to buy or start looking for a blade any time soon. Since I definitely want to learn, more and of course save up enough for it I am not particularly attached or give much importance to the actual antiques, but more to the art of forging. So I'm also interested in newly forged blades using traditional methods by known smiths. As my understanding goes a modernly forged sword can be as valuable as an antique. So my question is where I could collect more information about today living smiths that have at least learned from old blacksmith schools or masters. I know there are competitions in Japan, and that new forged blades are called shinsakuto(i think). But having problem getting more information on the matter on internet, because I cant read Japanese, and the searches in English usually give me links to stores. I would probably need to get some actual books, so recommendation on titles would also be appreciated.
