haha yup that was the plan lol I knew I could rely on everyone here. I never buy anything without consulting with someone I know that knows a lot about what I'm looking at and I don't know any sword experts so I have this message board lol

I had a feeling something was wrong when the price was that low (considering that even a blade that wasn't hand forged would be more expensive than that) but the feedback for the seller was at or near 100% that's is the ONLY thing that caused me to take a second look.. I knew you all would steer me in the right direction though

it says its Japanese... how do you know it is chinese?.. just because it says its in china?..

I don't know much about swords but shouldn't this sword be selling for more if it is handmade (hell even if it isn't handmade).. it doesn't show the signature or anything but it says its handmade and I think I can make out a little grain in one of the pictures.... Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you Grey. If the blade's issues were restored? Would it be worth the price of getting it restored by a professional or because it isn't a handmade blade would it not really be worth it?

I have also been looking for a captains/lieutenants grade tassel for it for a good price. (I am a broke college kid) If anyone has ideas on where I could find one that would be awesome.

I have VERY little knowledge of these swords. Stumbled upon this one in a foreclosed home and thought it might be worth researching. Any info that can be given is greatly appreciated.
