This sword was collected by my father. The sword is identified as having belonged to Major Takazo Mutaguchi. It came with a military war crimes charge sheet named to the Major. It is a Japanese officer's sword in standard World War Two mounts. The blade shows a lot of use, but is signed.
I would like to have the naming on the tang translated.
Any help appreciated.
James
Thank you for the information on the other two swords I listed.
This signature is on a tanto with very nice fittings with gold accents. I would estimate that the fittings are from the 1800s as the securing peg is through the handle is threaded.
Hello,
I am new to this forum. I have a few family owned swords that I would like to get identified as to the maker.
The first signature is from a WWII naval sword, the second signature is from an army one.
