  1. Hi - yes it is Soshu Kanemitsu darren
  2. Hi - With help from some members i was able to translate the Mei on my Wakizashi. Reads : " Soshu Kanemitsu ". I was told there was only one listed in Hawleys, a Kanemitsu from Soshu in 1488 . If anyone has any other information related it would be great. Some questions i would like to know ? is it in the generation line of the Kanemitsu taught by Masumune or another Swordsmith. My other question is what type of point value does this swordsmith have. Was he a average smith ? thanks so much Darren
  3. is there a possibility that it could be so retsu instead of soshu ?
  4. hi - hi took a look and i think you are correct.. it would make more sense with the 3 lines above ..Thanks i appreciate it :D darren
  5. Hi i am quite new in collecting swords..just a novice . i tried to decipher this Mei myself but i am at a little bit of a loss. I came up with " Soshu Kanemoto " as my best guess .. the 2nd character is Retsu but also very similar to SHU . the 4th Character puzzles me and i all can find close is MOTO. Need help from more knowledgable people any information would be helpful. I can also post some pictures of the blade . Thanks
