sabi Posted Sunday at 11:13 PM Report Posted Sunday at 11:13 PM (edited) Good evening NMB, On offer today are two guinomi and one tokkuri that beg to be used, but would do wonderfully on display as well if that’s more your thing. All prices include shipping to the USA, international buyers please contact me for a quote. Payment to be made via PayPal friends and family. First up is a Bizen Hidasuki guinomi by Takashi Baba. This technique originated in the Muromachi and Momoyama periods and involves wrapping rice straw around the pots before firing, which leaves brilliant red streaks behind as they burn off. This piece shows a lovely spontaneous pattern and phenomenal clay flavor. New and never used, measures 7cm wide by 5.5 cm tall and includes its original box, cloth and paperwork. $120 Next we have a Shigaraki guinomi by the renowned Furutani Michio. This legendary potter literally wrote the book on modern anagama firing, famously saying that if you don’t like the result, tear it down and start again. This is a classic Furutani cup with incredible clay and an ethereal color palette that pursues the nuances of Ko-Shigaraki, rather than being too busy or fussy chasing the maximum amount of firing effects. Lightly used but in perfect condition, measures 5.5cm tall by 6cm wide and comes with its original box and paper. $160 Lastly is a tokkuri by of of the best Bizen potters of the modern age, Mori Togaku. An early piece from approximately 1969, shortly after he established himself as a dominant force of the ancient art of Bizen. You can’t get more classic than this, crane neck form with perfect proportions and a surface that goes toe to toe with true Ko-Bizen pieces I’ve seen and handled. I’m assuming this is used give the age bit condition is also perfect, measures 17cm tall by 9cm wide and includes its original box, cloth and paperwork. $300 Open to package deals if you’re interested in multiple items, please let me know if you have any questions or need additional pics. Thanks for looking! Baba Takashi: Edited Sunday at 11:51 PM by sabi Quote
