Joel Lundqvist Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 I belive this is from a dirty sweaty finger from a person who not know about handling, I know about not tuch the blades with fingers but I not know how to fix this,??? When it arrives I want to do this asap, anyone who know? I have the oil and the ball with white powder unused from when I buy a set of stones long time ago it was with the stones full set, but I have never used it, Quote
eternal_newbie Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 Do not use the white powder (uchiko) if you have never used it before or are unsure of the quality/origin; if used improperly it will damage the polish and can leave long, unsightly lines on the steel. Spray it with some isopropyl alcohol (also called isopropanol), at least 99% pure. Then wipe it down several times with a microfiber cloth, the kind you use to clean eye glasses or a camera lens. Afterwards, apply a very thin coat of the oil to both sides of the blade to prevent new rust from forming. 1 1 1 Quote
