Hello everyone,
I am looking for a special wakizashi for my personal collection and would prefer a collector-to-collector trade rather than an outright purchase.
What I am looking for:
A high-quality, preferably larger wakizashi with an attractive traditional horimono.
I am particularly interested in Kurikara/dragon, Bonji, suken or other traditional horimono. I would prefer a healthy blade in good Japanese polish, preferably with NBTHK papers and, ideally, a good koshirae.
I am not looking simply for an expensive sword. My main priority is a beautiful and impressive wakizashi with a genuine traditional horimono that I would be happy to keep permanently in my collection.
What I can offer in trade:
1. Katana – Naminohira Yasuuji (波平安氏), circa Kansei period
Nagasa: approximately 69.7 cm (2 shaku 3 sun)
Signed
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon
Complete koshirae
Additional papers/documentation for the fittings
2. Wakizashi – 2nd Generation Kanewaka (二代兼若)
Mei: Gashū-jū Kanewaka (賀州住兼若)
Nagasa: 41.8 cm
Signed and judged Shoshin
NTHK-NPO papers
Koshirae
I would consider trading both swords for one exceptional wakizashi that matches what I am looking for.
Depending on the quality and value of the offered sword, I am also open to discussing an appropriate cash adjustment in either direction.
I am located in Croatia, European Union, and an EU-based trade would of course be especially convenient, although I am open to serious offers from collectors elsewhere, subject to all applicable shipping, customs and legal requirements.
I can provide detailed photographs of both blades, nakago, mei, koshirae and all papers to anyone with a serious proposal.
If you have such a wakizashi in your collection and might be interested in a trade, please send me a private message.
Thank you.
