    According to AI (...), the more correct translation is: "Kai Masachika of Mihara in Bishū — great glutton, hearty drinker, mighty devourer of mochi — and for all that, a poor hand at the forge. So it is." Which sounds like the piece was made for a close friend or acquaintance with whom there was a running gag about the smith's lifestyle.
