The number is very lightly stamped on the Saya throat, but it appears to be either 3800 or 8800.

Is this a ww2 era Sword? Sorry for the quality of pictures, but it is all that I have at this time. Unfortunately, the scabbard has a different number than the sword blade. Thank you
