  1. Hey Sam, I will take a look when I get some time to pull it apart, the store gets very busy very quickly!
  2. Hey there, thank you for the information. I had an extremely short period of time to list this as my store has been extremely busy, so apologies for the errors.
  3. Thanks Sam, I was unsure and did not want to assume (knew metal fittings meant likely military)
  4. Total length (sheathed and with all parts attached) is approximately 39 1/4" or 99.6 cm
  5. Hey all, it's that time again! I have a sword here a client has asked me to identify/valuate - and it is interesting. Any information will help - smith name, date, etc. I don't have any details or provenance, but he has a lot of vintage swords, vintage US military gear, etc, so possibly a relative who collected artifacts from WWII. Appreciate the help in advance, and please feel free to ask me for more pictures, and I will get around to them when I am able. I will post the additional pictures in replies as they are a little too big to upload all to the main post.
  6. Here are a couple more pictures for you all, the flower that is not a copper color appears to be silver, I suppose it could be iron but unlike jewelry testing I would rather not test this to keep it as well preserved as possible. Any extra information this can provide? Also, if there are any areas you would like to ask about specific pictures on please feel free to let me know, I will do my best.
  7. Updated with more pictures, will try for more when I am able!
  8. Thank you all for the info! I will try to get some pictures of the fittings disassembled when there is time (my store is constantly busy). For now, here are some more updated pictures that will hopefully help identify if it is a type 94 or 98 and more information overall.
  9. Thank you Ray! Very concise, I appreciate the punctuality.
  10. Hello all, I have posted here a couple times and am always excited to share things I find through my store - this time I have a customer who has an appraisal request (mainly I want to get him the information, era, location etc so he can properly decide what to do with it) of a sword he inherited when a house was passed on to him. It appears to be military (from my extremely limited experience) with a copper saya. I did my best picturing the boshi, but it is difficult to show the nearly invisible line in the light I had available. He is going to bring it back to have a more thorough look later in the day, but I pictured the signature, and the boshi as if I recall, that is the first thing to photograph to check here. That said, I would appreciate any information you can help with, and may need to post more of the pictures in replies to this thread. If you want to request more pictures to get a more detailed look, please let me know. The length from tip to tip is approximately 39 inches, if this helps. Thank you all in advance!
