Katana/ wakizashi Clear Acrylic Stand
Lukas K replied to Lukas K's topic in Assorted Samurai, Japanese Art and Related Items
i can definitely look into it and see if i can come up with anything. If so, will create a post about it. Lukas -
Hi All, I do have a small wakizashi back in Poland that I’m looking to bring back to London. I’d rather not post it, as I’m worried it might get lost, so I was thinking of flying with it in my checked luggage. As long as the airline is okay with it, I’m not sure what I would need in terms of customs clearance in case there are any issues. The wakizashi is over 100 years old and “the real deal,” so I understand that this should make it legal to bring into the UK. However, does anyone know how I would prove that? The blade isn’t a masterpiece and has never been appraised, so it doesn’t have any paperwork. I bought it many years ago as a “junk” piece, hoping it would clean up nicely. After sending it to a polisher, it turned out to be a pretty decent wakizashi. Can anyone help me with some more information or sugest a beter way of getting it in, please? Lukas

Hi there, Sorry for late reply. I am currently waiting for a new laser cutter but will be able to produce some more within a week or so. Price would be as per my original post and qucikly checked and postage to Brazil would be around £30. Not sure if this is something that will be cost effective for you but let me know if you are still interested. Lukas -

The only thing I didnt make clear is that it is £75 for either of the stand not both - but I'm sure I would be able do soemthing about the price when both (or more) are bought at the same time. Sorry for any confusion. Lukas -
Hi All, I have been searching for specific stand that is clear and not lookign cheap and couldn't find anything to my liking ( or in the UK). Decided to produce these myself. I was lookign for something to hold my wakizashi's and ideally wanted to make something not as wide as regular katanakake. I've been able to create 2 prototypes at work. Would anyone be interested? Please let em know via PM and once enough people will be interested would look to have some made at the beginnign of january 2023. I am also open to all suggestions making it a better product. Stands are made out of 8mm clear acrylic. Wakizashi Stand: Base Lenght: 30cm Base With: 8,5cm stand Height: 32cm Widht Between Holders: 25cm Katana Stand: Base Lenght: 38cm Base With: 8,5cm stand Height: 32cm Widht Between Holders: 32cm Price £75 (+£8 Next Day Delivery within UK). Thanks, Lukas

thanks Dave. The project hasn't been touched yet, wrapping etc is as it was and abviously the mountd are not best - it is just loosely put together for storage purposes, pretty much only interested in blade side of that all rather than anything else, which most likely will be replaced. Lukas

Hi there, Few years back I have bought this bargain hunt but only now starting to get it 'fixed' and put it nicely together...it needs some work, especially needs to have proper habaki done (the one attached is temporaty and doesn't fit well) and also seppa's and general TLC. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the value of this wakizashi? i am just curious so appreciate if anyone could help. thanks, Lukas
